Mariposa Place is a unique and exciting "Arts-Focused" program that provides life-enhancing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We integrate individual choice and need with supportive-community based opportunities while offering experiences in the creative arts.  Through art, our Friends (clients) are given the opportunity to improve fine and gross motor skills, stimulate intellectual growth, feel connected to a group and accepted by their peers.  The use of art promotes imagination and creativity and provides a refuge from expectations and evaluation by others.  Every Friend receives individual attention, a person-centered approach and skilled care from staff with intellectual and developmental disability experience.  Mariposa Place offers the artists the opportunity to display and sell their artwork for profit.

In addition to the arts-focused program, Friends may participate in gardening, book, coffee, cooking, women's and men's club.  Mariposa Place offers weekly guest speakers, Music Therapy, hooping, drama and nursing services.  Additional programs are provided based on the Friend's wants and needs.  Mariposa Place is more that just an ADT for adults.  We provide Community Living Supports, Behavior Supports, Psychological services, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy for both children and adults with qualifying waivers.  Additional support and specialized treatment is provided for those in transition from school or ICF/MR.  Contact Erin Davis, Executive Director, at (502) 896-8147 to schedule your tour today.
